LOCAL, ORGANIC AND DELICIOUS

In the western world a healthy lifestyle is getting more and more important. People are aware of the food they eat and try to live as healthy as possible. I figured I could find a lot of truly local organic products in Vietnam. There are, but only at Cocobox in Hoi An it really is local, organic ánd fun!

Cocobox is one of the few places where you can get a proper italian coffee in Hoi An. This is weird because coffee is one of Vietnam’s top export products! There is also only little attention for ’thinking green’ or local organic initiatives, which is a pitty. We found out at Cocobox there is a lot of good local stuff to tell you about!

As a former travel journalist, owner Jan Ekholm from Sweden, travelled a lot himself and was always looking for a cozy café with local, organic products and creative juices. Well, that’s exactly what Cocobox is!
Go there for a refreshing refill; a yummy cold pressed juice (super healthy as the vitamins are saved from heat and oxidize) made of beet, carrot or a surprising combo. Or go for a delicious coffee made of Vietnamese beans and roasted by a local roaster in Hoi An. The truffles are homemade and come in flavors like ginger and chili…

In case you prefer to bring home edible souvenirs over from Hoi An, eat your heart out at the Cocobox farmer shop. An entire wall filled with unique products made by small, local foodies. The MAROU chocolate, for instance, is made of 100% Vietnam soil, the tea is cultivated by ethnic minorities in Vietnam and blended by Les Vergers du Mekong. As you can see in the gallery above, there are so many other wonderfull local products (limited) available.

Cocobox has a great atmosphere, the food is good, the juices are cold and everything is fresh, organic and local! Definitely a place we love!
