LIFE’S BIG FISH
Upcoming photographer Victor Tretiak visualizes the feeling of confusion and emptiness after a search to find answers to life’s questions. Born in Russia, now living in Bangkok the new kid on the block is armed with his camera and by coincidence telling his story about his search for the big fish in life.
That point when you are looking for answers and you just can not figure it out. Victor Tretiak decided to leave home and start a literal search for these answers. He travelled to the other side of Russia to find them, but there was no sign of answers there. Eventually Victor left Russia for Bangkok, Thailand, to find his peace there. Publishing the pictures of this trip was never his goal, it was after finishing another similar project in Thailand that he recognized ‘himself’ in his earlier pictures of ‘Searching for the whale’.
About the similar Thailand project, it’s called; ‘The worst and the best’ slightly inspired by the poem below. I asked myself if there ís a ‘best’ in Tretiak’s work. Did he ever found the ‘whale’ or ’the best’?
